At the very first sip, we let our taste associations beam us from Indonesia across the globe to the early summer wet moors of Norway’s Hardangervidda, eating overripe cloudberries straight from the tender plant stems, delighting in their creamy texture, their sweet taste reminiscent of a satiny dessert, similar to yet quite different from white mulberries or the fruits of the sapotilla tree.
