Reza Nurullah is a coffee farmer and roaster from Jlegong, Indonesia. Best known for producing Canephora, he is also constantly exploring new ways of working with coffee.
This Canephora lot impressed us with its sweetness and expressive character: the cherries undergo lactic-induced anaerobic fermentation before being dried as a natural. The result is an intense coffee with a syrupy body, plenty of sweetness, and notes of yuzu, strawberry, and dark chocolate. At a public cupping, it was unanimously chosen as the favorite — and hardly anyone could believe it was a Canephora.
