Lemongrass
Nectarine
Lime zest
This one is complex.
The first thing we notice about this coffee is its aroma of lemongrass. On the palate, the initial impressions remind us of nectarine with a slightly boozy character. A fresh note of lime zest lingers in the finish.
Ambe is produced by smallholder farmers in Uganda’s West Nile region and processed at the Ambe Microstation. The SL14 and Bourbon varieties grow at an altitude of 1,480 metres and are slowly dried on raised beds after a 36-hour anaerobic fermentation.
A complex natural coffee with notes of lemongrass, nectarine and fresh lime zest. The anaerobic processing adds a subtle boozy character and plenty of depth to the cup.
The cooperative supports its producers in developing regenerative farming systems. More shade trees, healthier soils and improved water retention make the farms more resilient to the effects of climate change.
